Summary

Isabelle Forrester is the wife of a prominent Parisian banker who has long since shut her out of his heart。 For years, Isabelle has lived a life of isolation, caring for her desperately ill son and her teenage daughter。 She allows herself one secret pleasure: a long-distance friendship with a Washington power broker who, like Isabelle, is trapped in an empty marriage。 To Bill Robinson, Isabelle is a godsend, a kindred spirit who touches him across the miles。 Their relationship is a lifeline that sustains them both through the heartache of marriages they will not betray。 Agreeing to meet for a few innocent days in London, Isabelle and Bill find their friendship changing。 Then, amid the sudden crash of steel, they are thrust onto a new path fraught with pain but also with possibility。

Now, inside a London hospital, Isabelle and Bill cling to life。 In the weeks that follow, they traverse a road to recovery littered with challenges of the body, spirit, and heart。 Together, they must find the strength to embrace life again。 But changing relationships and another loss conspire to separate them once more。 And this time they could lose each other forever。

In a novel that is as compelling as it is compassionate, Danielle Steel weaves a story of courage in the face of unimaginable loss, exploring the strength it takes to conquer our greatest fears, showing us how the toughest choices can yield the most unexpected rewards 。。。 and how the longest journeys can begin with a single kiss。

The Kiss is beautiful, emotional, well-written。。。but slightly repetitive。I adore Bill。 He is everything I would like in an older guy。 He's smart, endearing and astute and I can see why Isabelle fell the way she did。 Who wouldn't?I did appreciate the sentimental scenes especially the ones surrounding her sickly son but I also thought that they were a bit overmentioned。 I understand that the characters have a bit of a。。。stagnant life, but I still think if the story was shorter it would have had th The Kiss is beautiful, emotional, well-written。。。but slightly repetitive。I adore Bill。 He is everything I would like in an older guy。 He's smart, endearing and astute and I can see why Isabelle fell the way she did。 Who wouldn't?I did appreciate the sentimental scenes especially the ones surrounding her sickly son but I also thought that they were a bit overmentioned。 I understand that the characters have a bit of a。。。stagnant life, but I still think if the story was shorter it would have had the same emotional impact。 I also thought that Isabelle should have figured out (view spoiler)[her husband's infidelity sooner rather than later (hide spoiler)] as that would have also eliminated a lot of unnecessary scenes。That said, it's still not an easy read。 You'll feel terribly sorry for the FMC。 Emotions will run high with this one (or maybe I'm just naturally emotional)。 Either way, I was really glad for the happy ending and I'm proud that Isabelle finally found the courage to fight for something she loved and cared about。 The character development was good in this one, if not outstanding。 。。。more

Danielle Steel gentager sig meget i denne bog og gentagelser gør det lidt kedeligt i længden。 Det føles som om at hun har gang i for mange bøger på én gang og derfor glemmer, hvad hun tidligere har skrevet。 Desværre。 Dog er hun stadig en af mine yndlings forfattere, denne bog er dog bare ikke en af de bedste :-) Det er i hvertfald ikke en bog, som jeg vil læse igen lige foreløbig。Danielle Steel repeat herself a lot in the book , that makes the book kind of boring - yet she is still one of my fav Danielle Steel gentager sig meget i denne bog og gentagelser gør det lidt kedeligt i længden。 Det føles som om at hun har gang i for mange bøger på én gang og derfor glemmer, hvad hun tidligere har skrevet。 Desværre。 Dog er hun stadig en af mine yndlings forfattere, denne bog er dog bare ikke en af de bedste :-) Det er i hvertfald ikke en bog, som jeg vil læse igen lige foreløbig。Danielle Steel repeat herself a lot in the book , that makes the book kind of boring - yet she is still one of my favorite writers。。 。。。more

The first 2 chapters were so repetitive and scattered。 Very amateur writing。 Got better after that but had to push myself to get through the first chapters。

I loved it! Was surprised at seeing negative reviews! The story was good and the ending happy。。 was actually not sure if it would be a happy one。。 I love her attention to detail😀

This was not the usual feel good story I would expect from Danielle Steel and that would have been ok if it wasn’t so boring。 I didn’t want to hear about the characters and their feelings by the end of it。 I couldn’t give it 1* as I did at least finish it (and I reserve 1* for unfinished books) so 2* are given begrudgingly。

I'm not going to say i loved this book。 Because this was not good。 But i did love how she describes the characters。 BUT she repeats the story and what you've already read。 Just not good。 I'm not going to say i loved this book。 Because this was not good。 But i did love how she describes the characters。 BUT she repeats the story and what you've already read。 Just not good。 。。。more

Steel's 53 novel。 A wife puts up with a disabled child while the husband goes on with his work and life without any input to raise the child。 It was so heartbreaking to see her struggles。 She finds solace with someone else。 Something comes to light about her husband near the end of the novel that takes Isabelle by surprise。 Can people really be so blind? This is the story of a woman who has a baby prematurely。 The baby (even as he grows into a child) is never healthy。 The woman dedicates her life to taking care of the boy。 The father blames the mother for the child being premature and sickly。 He never really likes the boy and is disrespectful to the mother。 He does whatever he wants。 He goes away on business trips and doesn't tell the wife where he is going or when he will be back。 One night the father takes the mother to a business supper, he d This is the story of a woman who has a baby prematurely。 The baby (even as he grows into a child) is never healthy。 The woman dedicates her life to taking care of the boy。 The father blames the mother for the child being premature and sickly。 He never really likes the boy and is disrespectful to the mother。 He does whatever he wants。 He goes away on business trips and doesn't tell the wife where he is going or when he will be back。 One night the father takes the mother to a business supper, he doesn't sit by her, but a very interesting man does。 They strike up a friendship, nothing that is physical。 It is an thought provoking book as I have seen families that have a child with a disability and it seems like this happens in many of these relationships。 。。。more

This is the first book I have read by Danielle Steele, and it will be my last。 I agree with other reviewers about the repetition。 I began to feel like she thought I was stupid and couldn't remember things from one chapter to the next。 And it wasn't that things were repeated once。 No, they were repeated repeatedly。 I also had a very difficult time with the writing style。 I didn't feel that DS was getting me very close to the characters。 Instead of a book where I felt like I was living with the ch This is the first book I have read by Danielle Steele, and it will be my last。 I agree with other reviewers about the repetition。 I began to feel like she thought I was stupid and couldn't remember things from one chapter to the next。 And it wasn't that things were repeated once。 No, they were repeated repeatedly。 I also had a very difficult time with the writing style。 I didn't feel that DS was getting me very close to the characters。 Instead of a book where I felt like I was living with the characters and very absorbed in the plot, it seemed like this book was a hands off description of what was happening。 It's hard to explain, but I felt like the book was describing itself rather than being itself。 I did like the plot although I got a little ticked with Bill and his desire to make decisions for other people。 。。。more
